More Deep Mentoring for Children

January 7, 2022 – Real Champions is a 501c3 that has brought a deep-mentoring model to South Carolina children for the first time. This involves carefully selecting at-risk youngsters and providing them with 2-4 hours of individualized weekly mentoring and educational support.

In support of this work, Jubilee Community Partnership began a collaboration with Real Champions in 2021. That has blossomed into a major expansion of Jubilee’s investment in 2022. The increased resources will allow the nonprofit to hire and train more advocate-mentors to serve local children. They will also bring additional managerial oversight on board, and support continuing professional development for program director Ricardo Perry.

In addition, Real Champions is expanding across South Carolina—to Charleston, at the invitation of public school officials there.

The Jubilee Community Partnership is looking forward to future cooperation with Real Champions that will bring dedicated mentors into public schools supported by Jubilee in Jasper County.
