First Steps of Beaufort County

March 30, 2021 – To improve the quality of early childhood education in southern South Carolina, the Jubilee Community Partnership is supporting a range of services offered by First Steps of Beaufort County to area families and service providers.

First Steps operates a home-visitation program for parents that encourages early learning, reading, health, and wholesome childrearing. It refers the families of children with suspected developmental delays to service providers with relevant expertise. It provides training and quality assessments that raise standards in the region’s existing child-care centers. It has special offerings for Spanish speakers, children heading to kindergarten, and four-year-old preschoolers.
